Cutler and Gross Autumn Winter 2025

Cutler and Gross Autumn Winter 2025

It’s always a good day when a new delivery from Cutler and Gross arrives here at Seen. Founded in London back in 1969 by opticians Graham Cutler and Tony Gross, the brand combines classic shapes with a definite dose of ‘Swinging Sixties’ style. Cast your eyes over this new stuff and you’ll see what we mean…

Up first, we should probably mention the Graham Cutler Collection. The story goes that back in the early days of the brand’s Knightsbridge shop, Graham Cutler had a special drawer filled with smaller frames which he’d collected over the years—which he always kept at the ready for customers with more refined features. This new range does the same thing—offering the sharp silhouettes you’d expect from C+G, scaled down a touch.

Aviator designs like the GR14 and GR15 take tried-and-tested Cutler and Gross designs (the 0822 and 1394 frames, if you were wondering), and honed them down for those with smaller faces. The GR11 frames are equally refined—with a subtly-angled shape and the perfect keyhole bridge.

For those who like things a little louder, there’s the 1401 and 1411 frames. Sitting somewhere between wayfarers and cat-eyes, these chunky frames are made in Italy from hefty acetate with a distinct squared-off Modernist shape. The bold shape is matched by the bright and punchy clear colours. We can’t be the only ones who instantly think of Fox’s Glacier Fruits when they see these?

Then there’s the 1413 sunglasses. To be honest these showstoppers probably deserve not just their own newsletter… but their own Netflix series (and behind-the-scenes making-of documentary). These shades are nothing short of spectacular—carved from a huge chunk of acetate into a majestic geometric shape that words can’t really do justice to. Think of them like the eyewear equivalent of a Lamborghini Countach, and you’re maybe halfway there.

And that’s not all! Scroll down for the rest of the showstopping collection.
