The limited collections released by Jacques Marie Mage are always special. Rather than just pull inspiration from thin air, these carefully considered ranges are always really well thought out and go a fair bit deeper than just slapping a name on a product.
The Yellowstone Collection is a perfect example of that. Now in its sixth edition, this unique collection takes inspiration from somewhere particularly close to JMM founder Jerome Mage’s heart… Wyoming’s Yellowstone National Park. Since 2020 this collection has given back to this unique landscape by supporting scientists and conservationists working with the wolves and buffalo that call the park home.
This time around we’ve got three frames. The Cougar frames are an homage to the Cougar Creek Pack who have roamed the remote Gallatin Range since 2001. Taking cues from vintage navigators, these are a really refined take on 80s style, finished off in a lovely shade of green presumably inspired by the park’s pine forests.
The 775M frames are seriously sleek aviators crafted from titanium. What’s that name about? Well, 775M was apparently a legendary grey wolf who covered serious miles across the park and founded two packs during his lifetime.
And finally, there’s the Firehole frames, with their unique prismatic acetate inspired by the rich colours found around the springs and geysers of the Firehole River. Finished with engraved wirecores and silver temple tip medallions, these are every bit as spectacular as the dramatic landscape that they pay tribute to.
