Continuing their long-running homage to legendary film director Stanley Kubrick, Jacques Marie Mage have now turned their attention to the 1980 horror classic, The Shining, with a pair of frames inspired by everyone’s favourite family man… Mr Jack Torrance.
Right now you might be racking your brain trying to remember what sunglasses Torrance wears while charging around the Overlook Hotel with an axe, or if he even wears sunglasses at all… but let’s not worry too much about that.
The Jacques Marie Mage Torrance frames take inspiration more from the vibe of the character than any actual shades—and have the studious ‘70s shape of the kind of shades Torrance would aspire to wear. That means hearty 10mm acetate, a chunky beveled brow and silver-plated wirecores, along with signature JMM details like those arrowhead front pins and spur-shaped rivets.
Just right for when the sun is… erm… shining.
