As proud pioneers of original eyewear, we're always after the best eyewear brands that haven't hit the UK yet, hunting them down and bringing them straight to you.
So, let us introduce you to Coblens, a new name to the Seen shelves who are dab hands at making super-classy titanium frames. Founded in Germany back in 2012 by two true veterans of the eyewear industry, Coblens make what they like to call ‘crowns for your eyes’—and while that might sound a little peculiar, we can’t deny the regal, dignified feeling that you get from wearing their wares. We're pleased to be one of the first UK shops to get our hands on them.
Made using high-quality titanium, their sleek wire-frame designs are deceptively durable—with a lightweight, flexible feel that belies their strength. Titanium is also used on their perfectly honed nose-pads for an exceptional level of comfort.
From the modern geometric take on the classic aviator shape seen on the Flugplan frames to the minimal mastery of the Autotelefon, our first delivery of Coblens frames is a true masterclass in considered design.
That considered nature extends to everything the brand does—and we should probably mention their strong focus on sustainability too, not just in the way their frames are made, but also how they operate, with eco-friendly packaging and a solar-powered flagship store.
And if you were wondering about their name—it’s a combination of the French spelling of the brand’s home city of Koblenz and the word ‘lens’. Take note of it because we doubt this will be the last time we talk about Coblens and their finely-crafted titanium frames…
