Spring at Seen…

Yes folks, we’re in full bloom at Seen for another amazing Spring and Summer. As far as we’re concerned, the sun in Manchester always shines and for that reason we always have the best Sunglasses for your enjoyment.

This year we’ve got great stock in from Garrett Leight California Optical, Mykita, Oliver Peoples, Dita and of course Rayban. As well as a few other lesser known brands like Paul Frank and Maui Jim.

We haven’t forgotten about the Optical Collection either with new styles coming in from our amazing Belgian friends at Theo. A few early birds have already snapped up some of the new designs and colours so swing by and check ‘em out soon.

Spring has sprung everybody. Smile more, wear colourful clothing and be happy!

Some “lovely” folk with clearly very good taste have tried to break into Seen last night. Although they didn’t get in, they have knocked our Phone Lines out. So please contact us using our contact page, facebook or twitter page…

We love Orgreen at Seen. It’s a collection of Eyewear that makes us smile because it always look fresh, different and ultimately the people that wear it, LOVE IT!
They just sent us a few pics from their latest campaign and we thought you might like to see them.
We’ve just had new Orgreen stock arrive at Seen so now is a good time to come and check them out too!

Celebrations erupted all across Manchester earlier today when Seen re-opened its doors looking fantastic in metal and wood.
More photographs to come but the best thing is to come down and see it for real. Visual stimulation at its best.

Seen is closed until July 16th for an all new look.

We work hard to keep at the forefront of the optical world at Seen and now we feel that we need a make over in store to take things to the next level.

Rayban. Inspired Wayfarer designs for 2012…

The Rayban Wayfarer is THE sunglass. Our parents wore them. Their parents wore them. And yet we still want to wear them. Now that is impressive. To stand the test of time and still be desirable is a very rare thing.
And reality is that it’s an unusual shape. In most cases, it doesn’t fit perfectly on the face. With a very exaggerated tilt inwards towards the cheek and a heavy rigid feel, it’s astounding that it has been so popular. And that can only be the case because the minute you wear it, the style it creates is unmistakable.

And in 2012 Rayban appear to have gone back an era or two for design inspiration by using 80s inspired colours and block form to create a new style of wayfarer for this seasons Rare Print collection.
And at Seen, we like it. In fact we like it a lot.

Peter Sellers. Audrey Hepburn. Sophia Loren. Grace Kelly. Michael Caine. Vidal Sassoon. Christian Dior. What do all these Twentieth Century Icons have in common? Oliver Goldsmith.
Oliver Goldsmith started making eyewear in the twenties but it wasn’t until the swinging sixties that it became THE eyewear collection to be seen wearing. Cult movie classics such as Ipcress Files and Breakfast At Tiffanys ensured the brand was extremely desirable. Who wouldn’t want to look as sexy as Audrey?!! (common misconception is she was wearing a Wayfarer- no no!)

Oliver Goldsmith was the first to recognise glasses as a fashion accessory. He created the concept of “Eyewear”. Sunglasses for winter and Catwalk pieces are all OG inspired.
It wasn’t until 2005 when Great Granddaughter of Oliver, Claire Goldsmith, decided it was time to bring this brand back to life. Claire brought back this fashion story and recreated these design masterpieces,
